Graduate Software Engineer
Part-Time Position (50%) January to June 2026
Do you want to kickstart your software development career while doing something meaningful in the Norwegian power grid sector?
At ElBits, we’re looking for curious and motivated students who want to gain hands-on experience in real-world product development - alongside experienced designers, developers, product managers, and domain experts.
Who we are
ElBits is an ambitious collaboration among Norway’s grid companies aimed at driving change in the power grid industry. We do this by integrating and standardizing data and developing digital products. Our goal is to build digital infrastructure that will help increase grid capacity, efficiency, and improve customer experience.
Through our partnerships, industry knowledge, and access to critical data, we’re uniquely positioned to innovate and solve today’s grid challenges. By making data accessible and enabling collaboration, we unlock the grid industry's potential. Together, we’re contributing to one of the biggest challenges of our time - the energy transition.
What you’ll get to do
You’ll join from January to June 2026, working 50% (around 2–3 days per week). We are flexible, so your working hours can be arranged to fit your lecture schedule. If things go well, there may also be an opportunity for a full-time role after completing your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Some of your key responsibilities:
- Contribute to meaningful coding tasks and provide general support in a product team.
- Apply your technical knowledge to real-world problems.
- Work closely with senior developers and get hands-on mentorship.
- Learn how modern product development works, from idea to deployment.
- Possibility to explore other functions such as cloud architecture, data platforms, and DevEx/DevOps.
Our stack today consists of some TypeScript, React, Node, Golang, C#, Azure, Kubernetes, and IaC.
Who are we looking for?
You’re currently studying technology, computer science, informatics, or a similar degree with strong academic results and an eagerness to learn.
We’re looking for students who are:
- Curious and proactive - eager to explore new technologies and take initiative.
- Genuinely interested in software development and product thinking - not just coding, but understanding how products create value.
- Willing to try different tasks and learn new skills - flexibility and learning mindset are key.
- Excited to contribute to a real team and build solutions for real users - you want your work to matter.
- Hands-on experience through personal projects, hobbies, or other initiatives is a big plus - we value what you’ve built, not just what you’ve studied.
Whether you're into backend, frontend, cloud, or data - we’ll find ways for you to grow.
What can we offer?
- A chance to put your learning into practice by working on real-world challenges.
- The opportunity to learn alongside experienced professionals who will support your growth and success.
- Modern office centrally located at Rådhusgata in Oslo, one of Europe’s fastest-growing cities.
- Choice of equipment and other necessary tools to ensure you have everything you need to perform your role effectively.
- Great colleagues & social events.
What does the process look like?
- Apply by submitting your contact information and CV, along with a PDF of your academic transcript so far.
- If you have a GitHub profile or relevant projects, feel free to include those too.
- We’d also love to see a short cover letter telling us why you’re interested in the role and what excites you.
- If we find your profile interesting, we’ll schedule a short (30-minute) conversation with our recruitment advisor.
- After that, we’ll set up a Meet & Greet with our Recruitment Advisor and one of our Software Engineers.
- For the second interview, we’ll have a more in-depth discussion about your experience and understanding of the role. Here we will inform you about our way of working and more about us. We conduct a short exercise through a personality test with Fairsight.
- The final chat will involve a meeting with our Head of Technology.
- We do a couple of reference checks and send you an offer!
We use Semac for background checks after the final offer to verify the information provided during the process.
If you have any questions or other inquiries regarding this position, feel free to send an email to anna.wold@elbits.no
