At ElBits, we are building critical digital services for the Norwegian power sector. As our product teams grow and the scope of work increases, so does the need for strong, consistent UX design across teams. Today, our design team consists of three talented designers, and we are looking to expand this capability with a new UX Designer who can help scale our design practice while delivering excellent user experiences.

This role is central to our teams in early product phases, helping with data and infrastructure, visualization, roadmap, insight, delivery, UX, and UI. You will contribute both operationally and strategically, supporting design methodology, consistency, and quality across teams.

This is both a short-term capacity need and a strategic investment in strengthening the design function at ElBits.

What will you do?

The main goal of the UX Designer is to ensure that our products are user-centric, usable, and aligned with our product strategy, while also contributing to the broader development of design methodology and standards at ElBits.

You will:

• Gather user insights to deeply understand user needs and inform product development.

• Carry out user tests to validate design choices, ensure usability, and iterate based on feedback.

• Create design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs, keeping simplicity and clarity in focus.

• Develop and maintain a UI kit in close collaboration with developers, standardizing components and design policies across teams.

• Support and standardize design principles and workflows across ElBits, guiding teams in product initiatives.

• Facilitate and participate in workshops, internally and with customers, covering ideation, user insight, product strategy, and testing.

• Contribute to delivering high-quality design work in cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and domain experts.

• Ensure continuity, quality, and speed in design delivery across multiple product teams.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a driven and curious UX Designer with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for creating meaningful products. You thrive in cross-functional product teams, can communicate clearly, and balance operational delivery with methodological impact.

We hope you have:

• 3+ years of experience as a UX Designer, ideally in SaaS product environments.

• Strong experience with Figma.

• Proven experience in gathering insights, running user tests, and iterating products from concept to delivery.

• Experience working closely with developers and other designers in cross-functional teams.

• Experience designing for both B2B and B2C users.

• You are well-versed in Norwegian. A large part of this role will be to work with our grid partners in different parts of Norway.

• Ability to work in fast-paced product environments, be proactive, and take initiative.
  

It’s an advantage if you also have:

• Experience from the public sector or the energy industry.

• Domain knowledge in electricity distribution or utilities.

• Experience contributing to design methodology or UX standards at an organisational level.

What does the process look like?

• Next, you’ll meet our Senior Designer and Recruitment Advisor for a deeper conversation about your experience, motivation, and design approach.

• In the second interview, you will engage in a case assignment and discuss how you approach UX in complex product environments. You’ll also complete a brief personality assessment through Fairsight.

• The final conversation will involve members of the leadership team.

• We conduct reference checks and send you an offer.
