IT Operations and Support Manager
Build the systems that help people do their best work.
ElBits is an ambitious collaboration among Norway’s grid companies aimed at driving change in the power grid industry. We achieve this by integrating and standardizing data and developing digital products. Our goal is to create a digital infrastructure that will enable the sector to increase grid capacity and efficiency, as well as streamline and improve customer journeys.
With our partnerships, deep industry expertise, and access to critical data, we are uniquely positioned to innovate and address the challenges of today’s energy systems. By making data accessible and enabling collaboration, we unlock the grid industry's potential. Together, we contribute to solving one of the greatest challenges of our time - the energy transition.
As we have grown as a company in both employees, products, and services, so have the needs for our internal IT to be well run and predictable. Today, responsibility for IT operations and support is spread across HR, the platform team, and a few product managers. That means tasks and ownership can become fragmented and handled across the organization.
We are now hiring an IT Operations & Support Manager to make sure everyone at ElBits has the tools, systems, and access they need to work effectively, and to build more structure and predictability around our internal IT services. The role combines hands-on support with ongoing administration, ownership of applications and systems, user and access management, and continuous improvement of how we deliver internal IT.
You will also handle first-line support on our products and services, triaging and categorizing incoming incidents and escalating to the right product owners or technical teams when needed. How much you take on here is up to you and can grow over time as you grow with us.
The role sits in Operations and reports to our COO. You will be an important link between the platform team, the product teams, and HR, as well as being the person people turn to when something IT-related needs an answer or a solution.
If you like taking ownership, solving practical problems quickly, and building structure where there is little today, we would love to hear from you.
Success in this role looks like:
Employees receive fast, reliable, and high-quality support when IT issues arise.
The most common issues are resolved efficiently at L1, with clear escalation paths for more complex cases.
Clear SLAs, response times, and ownership are in place and consistently followed.
Requests and incidents are properly owned and followed through to resolution, with minimal cases falling through the cracks.
There is a clear overview of IT support volume, trends, priorities and status, enabling proactive improvements.
New employees have the right systems, access and equipment ready from day one, creating a smooth onboarding experience.
Recurring questions and manual requests decrease over time through effective self-service, documentation and automation.
IT Operations becomes increasingly structured, scalable and proactive, rather than primarily reactive.
What will you do?
Internal responsibilities;
Provide daily internal IT support to employees and be the first point of contact for IT-related questions and issues.
Administer and follow up on Microsoft 365 and our SaaS tools, such as Notion, Miro, and Slack.
Manage users, access, identities, and devices.
Ensure good structure and control over access management and user permissions.
Handle onboarding and offboarding, including creating and closing accounts, access, and equipment.
Administer and further develop Jira Service Management as our tool for IT support and service management.
Follow up on general IT, including hardware, software, equipment, and practical IT needs at the office.
Explore and contribute to improvements in AI-driven support and automation.
External responsibilities;
Handle L1 support on our products and services.
Assess, categorize, and triage incoming incidents and requests.
Escalate cases to the relevant product owners or technical teams when needed.
Ensure good follow-up and communication around incidents and support requests.
Explore and contribute to improvements in chatbot and AI-driven support.
Who are we looking for?
You’re service-minded, practical, and enjoy being the person who makes sure IT simply works for everyone else. You take ownership, get things done without needing a lot of direction, and are comfortable figuring things out as you go. You like bringing structure to areas that are still a bit messy, while keeping things simple and useful.
You’re curious about how technology can make everyday support better and more efficient, and you’re good at explaining technical things in a clear and approachable way. Most importantly, you care about helping people and making their day a little easier.
We believe you have experience with:
IT operations and support, primarily internal, and motivation to take on external L1 support.
Administering Microsoft 365 and SaaS applications.
Identity, access, and device management.
Setting up or administering ticketing and incident handling, ideally in Jira Service Management or similar tools.
Handling employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding and offboarding.
Being a strong communicator and having a service-minded approach.
Being self-driven and pragmatic, with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
Speaking English and Norwegian.
While not required, it’s an advantage if you:
Have experience from external or customer-facing support.
Have worked with IAM tooling such as Entra ID, Keycloak, or Intune.
Have experience with Purview or Copilot administration.
Have experience with networking / Wi-Fi, so we can reduce our dependency on individuals in this area.
Have experience with hardware and asset management, for example through Jamf or Intune.
Today, we use Microsoft 365 with Entra ID, Keycloak, and Intune for identity and device management. We also use Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence for service management and documentation, Slack and Notion for collaboration, and an ElevenLabs chatbot in our support setup.
We keep evaluating new tools as we grow, and you will have a lot to say about what we add next.
What can we offer?
First, we want to emphasize the opportunity to shape a role from the ground up. You will own internal IT at ElBits, decide how it should work, and have the opportunity to work with truly amazing and competent colleagues, making a real impact in Norway’s grid sector.
We also offer:
A positive, flexible, and trust-based work environment.
Meaningful societal impact and a contribution to the energy transition.
Industry-leading pension and insurance policies.
A modern office centrally located at Rådhusgata in Oslo.
Choice of equipment and the tools you need to do your best work.
Great colleagues, strong collaboration, and fun social events.
What does the process look like?
Apply with your CV and contact information.
If we find your profile interesting, we’ll schedule a short (30-minute) conversation with our Talent Advisor.
After that, we’ll set up a digital interview (1 hour) with our Talent Advisor to go deeper into your background and motivation. We’ll also conduct a personality assessment through Fairsight.
For the second interview, you’ll meet with the Lead Platform Engineer and Talent Advisor.
The last step is a final chat with our Head of Operations.
We do a couple of reference checks and send you an offer!
